Bridge Bomb Plot Suspects Appear in Court
All five now have been charged with conspiracy and attempted use of an explosive.
The five men arrested in connection with plans to blow up a bridge in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park appeared in court Tuesday afternoon.
Arrested were: Brandon L. Baxter, 20, of Lakewood; Anthony Hayne, 35, of Cleveland; Joshua S. Stafford, 23, of Cleveland; Connor C. Stevens, 20, of Berea; and Douglas L. Wright, 26, of Indianapolis.
The five men were each charged with one count of conspiracy and one count of attempted use of an explosive, said Mike Tobin, public affairs specialist for the U.S. Department of Justice, Northern District of Ohio. Charges against Wright, Baxter and Hayne were made Monday. Charges weren’t made against Stevens and Stafford until Tuesday.
None entered pleas this afternoon.
All are scheduled to appear at 11 a.m. Monday at the federal courthouse on West Superior Avenue in Cleveland for a detention hearing and a preliminary hearing. They will remain in custody until then.

THESE ARETHE FACES OF OCCUPY CLEVELAND
BlackFlame
8:36 am on Wednesday, May 2, 2012
You should read the police report. These people rejected Occupy Cleveland for being too peaceful. They tried to influence other members to take up violent tactics but were completely rejected. They then went on to try and influence people at homeless shelters. The face of Occupy are the members who rejected the use of violence.

If anyone has bothered to read to police report, these people at one point briefly participated in Occupy Cleveland but left the movement because it was too peaceful. They were trying to instigate violent tactics with other members but were roundly rejected. In other words, this isn't the face of Occupy movement but a group of primitivist who were trying to influence them. The real face of the Occupy movement are those that rejected violent tactics.
Also, using a couple of people and trying to generalize for the whole is fallacious reasoning. This is like taking a couple of racist tea party members and then trying to say that all or most tea party members are really racist. Learn logic people!

blackflame now that is not true here is a quote from a occupy cleveland protest not even 2 monthes ago in which he helped organize "Brandon Baxter of Lakewood said he had no regrets for making sure people heard the message" so they were current occupy cleveland members admit it and move on (that does not say that all occupy people are bad just those 5)

Yes, Adam, learn logic. What you are doing is switching the subject to the fact that I have a handle which has absolutely nothing to do with my arguments. For those that don't understand logic, this is called a fallacious argument. After that, you assert that they were clearly members of Occupy. However, the FBI report says they infiltrated Occupy to convert members. The report also says that the real Occupy member rejected their violent tactics. But if you would like my real name, it's Michael Miller. Most people on the online use handles which is a common practice for the past 20 years. It has no bearing as to whether an argument is true or false.
But its clear what you are doing. You are trying to take a couple of members and generalize for the whole. Again, this is fallacious reasoning and unless you're an idiot, I imagine you know this.
Brian
10:33 am on Wednesday, May 2, 2012
Sorry, but you are an idiot.
With your process of thinking the US Army Staff Sergeant who killed 16 Afghan citizens did so with the support of the US Army and Government? He was a CLEARLY a member of the Army, therefore he must represent their beliefs and ideals. So anyone with any association to a group and then goes and commits a crime does so because that's what the group represents?
You see this makes no sense and is ignorant and not well thought out. Very similiar to the comments made by yourself, Tom M. and many others. You way of thinking is just as ugly and dangerous.

Tom M.
Please read the FBI report. It says that these lunitics left the Occupy movement. They then proceded to return and infultriate Occupy and recruit members and turn Occupy in a violent direction. The Occupy members completely rejected them. If you actually have proof to the contrary, please provide it. You are taking one quote and pulling it out of context to the larger story.
Again, you and others are trying to take a couple of people and applying it to everyone. Cleveland Occupy canceled May Day events, closed down their website, and when they opened it again, they condemned these infultrators. All the forums for Occupy have also condemned the attacks calling these people terrorists. Again, if you have evidence to the contrary, please provide it instead of making assertions.

Steve, I am not here to defend Occupy Cleveland. I am only here to point out that Tom M doesn't have any proof of anything, but because he opposes Occupy Cleveland he decides to make up things only to incite a conflict with those that have partaken in Occupy Cleveland activites.
This a country divided by many lines and until we fix that, it will be hard to fix a lot of other issues in this country that affect all of us. There are too many individual, groups and political parties with narrow, hateful, and corrupt minds. See past the negativity and choose to make a difference.
Victor Mooney
11:22 am on Wednesday, May 2, 2012
The majority of the so-called occupy movement leaders and members have openly called for and repeatedly engaged it violent behavior. Anyone who says otherwise is delusional. Do I propose jailing everyone for the deeds or attempted deeds of these 5, no, but repeated incedents do color all by association.
Felacious calls for unity, and attempts to group all movements, as likely allies will do nothing to solve the divisiveness.
For instance, the tea party movement calls for working non-violently within the system, changing the rules and practices toward a more constitutional nation. The occupy movement calls for the destruction of the system, even by violence, and offers no message of peaceful change.
Common ground between two such endevors is non-existant.

Brian, are you asserting there has been no violent behavior by the occupy movement as a whole? or the Cleveland Occupy movement?
there are countless stories of rampant vandalism by occupy losers in many cities. Oakland being one. How about that elderly woman pushed down the stairs by some occupy protesters in D.C? How about the police station that was paint bombed a couple days ago. How about the bank lobby that was flooded with buckets of human feces. Or envelopes of white powder sent to banks. Wont take much effort to find plenty of violent behavior from occutrash. Can't say I've read too many Cleveland protesters being violent, besides these 5 winners.

What I am saying is that you cannot categorize an entire group based on the actions of a few knuckleheads. Whether they are these 5 in Cleveland, those in Oakland or DC. The majority as protesting in an orderly fashion.
Then you try to talk like you know something, but then have to insert 'occutrash' in with your statement which, in fact, makes me wonder how intelligent or educated you really are, sir.

Brian, regardless of the motives of the movement, the occupy movement has not been able to expel the bad eggs from among their ranks. Immediately after protests started the dirty hippies got on board and the "occupy camps" have been nothing but a health hazard filled with disease, rats, human waste in buckets, etc. Not to mention the drugs, illegal weapons, public nuisance with the silly drum circles. And if that's not enough, when they do finally get kicked out of the parks and public spaces, they leave a completely trashed property that the TAX PAYERS have to pay to clean up. OCCUTRASH is right. It's the truth!

first off, I dont trust the mainstream media. But I do read plenty of publications that I do trust. I can also see before and after images of parks when the protesters are forced off. The devistation is plain to see. Since you're the conspiracy theorist, do you have proof that occupy groups have not damaged countless properties? Do you have proof that photoshop was used to show damaged property? Do you have proof that the media paid women to say they were raped in an occupy camp? I'd say that burden falls on you. My ability to read an array of sources does make me weak. Anything but.

Brian, you're not making any sense. There's NO evidence that the Tea Party is a racist group, or even has any racist signs displayed at rally's. To the obama supporter, any criticism of him is by default racist. That I take issue with. With regard to the occupy movement (Occupy Cleveland aside), there's a wealth of examples to show that the group is violent and unlawful to say the least. The two groups are not morally equivalent in any sense. The net affect of the occupy "movement" has been noise and destroyed property. The net affect of the tea party movement has been a landslide election of conservatives to the House of Representatives...
