Company Offered Tax Incentives To Move To Twinsburg
SMC Design Dynamics Inc. plans to move from Hudson into a vacant building on Edison Boulevard.
Twinsburg officials have offered a Hudson company tax incentives to move to Twinsburg and create new jobs.
SMC Design Dynamics, Inc., a company in Hudson that designs and builds medical products, plans to purchase a vacant building at 2374 Edison Boulevard in Twinsburg.
The move would mean a more than $1.1 million investment in Twinsburg, including purchase of the building. The company plans to bring seven full-time and two part-time jobs with it, and has agreed to create 14 new full-time jobs within the first three years of its five-year contract with the city.
In return of its investment and hiring new workers, Twinsburg will pay SMC tax incentive grants for the next five years. The grant would be equal to 33 percent of the income taxes paid by its employees.
Twinsburg City Council still needs to approve the deal. That vote is expected at its Tuesday meeting.

Applause!! Twinsburg should hire someone, pay them a small salary to fill vacant business's. But, also pay the person a commision typr deal annually, depending how much its brings ($$$) in to city. It would give that person the incentive to bring, and KEEP the business's here. An aggressive person with people skills, and knowledge of how things work.. And a salary that would be tough to live on. Make it work! It sounds simple enough. I wonder if this has ever been tried anywhere?
I do hope the city put stipulations that new companies will give Twinsburg residents with the same qualifications "dibbs" on any new jobs. Anyone think this is a feasible idea?
