Friday: 5 Things to Know for Today
Warning: If you watch this video, it will get stuck in your head all weekend
I will start off by apologizing. I felt absolutely compelled to post this Youtube video in honor of it being Friday, and the promise of a new weekend is ahead. If you haven't seen Rebecca Black's video yet, enjoy. Odds are she won't be hitting the Top 40 anytime soon.
If you have any big weekend plans, we want to hear about them! Feel free to post them in the comments section and tell us what is going on this weekend. But before you do, why not read about 5 things that will make this a terrific Friday.
1. The award for most interesting band name goes to The New Barley Corn who will be playing live at Mavis Winkle's tonight starting at 7 p.m. If you find out why they are called that, let us know.
2. Did you know ... On this day in 1885, our famous national icon, the Statue of Liberty, arrived on American shores in New York as a gift of friendship from the French? Look it up.
3. Check out this blotter item from Solon Patch: A trio of Solon kids got arrested when they started "ding dong ditching" and ended up rifling through people's garages.
4. Don't miss our photo gallery of Twinsburg students and the staff of the Hilton Garden Inn being honored at Tuesday night's City Council meeting.
5. Finally, a few wise words to keep in mind this weekend from Kyle Chandler, "Opportunity does not knock, it presents itself when you beat down the door."
Happy Friday!
