Want a Better Economy? History Says Vote Democrat!
Personal disposable income has grown nearly 6 times more under Democratic presidents
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has grown 7 times more under Democratic presidents
Corporate profits have grown over 16% more per year under Democratic presidents (they actually declined under Republicans by an average of 4.53%/year)
Average annual compound return on the stock market has been 18 times greater under Democratic presidents (If you invested $100k for 40 years of Republican administrations you had $126k at the end, if you invested $100k for 40 years of Democrat administrations you had $3.9M at the end)
Republican presidents added 2.5 times more to the national debt than Democratic presidents
The two times the economy steered into the ditch (Great Depression and Great Recession) were during Republican, laissez faire administrations

Nice try Jean, but Obama is not JFK or Clinton.
No Republican or Democrat president has ever added 4+ trillion dollars of debt in one term. Obama is the first. Under Obama, we have had almost zero economic growth. Today it was announced that 3rd quarter growth came in at 2%. Normally, this would be a sign of a slowdown but Obama touts it as a turning around.
Obama will be judged on the current conditions of our country. We have 7.8% unemployment, and black unemployment above 13% Hispanic unemployment above 11% record number of Americans on food stamp, record number of America on and applying for disability, declining wages and higher energy and health care costs for middle-class families.
Now our President looked into the camera, with the caskets containing our ambassador and three other brave Americans, and told us they died because of a video. We now know that was a lie. The President knew it was a lie as he mouthed the words. He used those brave men’s dead bodies as a prop in his disgusting attempt to lie his way out of responsibility for what happened. I ask the reader, haven’t you had enough?

Spam is still spam. Dems must really be desperate to keep using this tactic.
Its thanks to you spam posters on here that I FINALLY voted as I did - guess your games backfired. I became more educated than before, and it wasn't from reading your comments. It was because I checked the facts and complete statements of what you presented. Thanks again for making all of us more educated voters. Funny thing is, people on the Patch come here to discuss or learn and therefore are not just going to take your spoon-fed words. These readers are going to educate themselves and then you just wasted your time and lost votes.

"500 trillion" Politico recently reported a former Biden staffer just published a book saying Biden's not great with numbers so not a surprise.
And I just watched this: CNN Reality Check: Erin Burnett clarifies the "auto bailout" spin from the media.
I've heard from many (including our President during the last debate) that Romney "would have liquidated the auto industry".
Let's start with the allegedly Romney NY Times Op Ed entitled "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt". HE DIDN'T WRITE THAT. His title was something like "The Way Forward for the Auto Industry". The horribly pathetically biased NY Times wrote that title.
This is the first time I've heard this. Amazing.
Romney merely proposed an orderly bankruptcy. Guess what, that's what ended up happening after taxpayor funding. A bankruptcy.
I was floored by want I learned tonight:
Here's the CNN link:

Vote this video before wasting your vote.
Ohio is critical:
"If President Barack Obama does win Ohio, and the election, he may owe it to a move he made at the very beginning of his presidency - the auto bailout."
Romney would have save the industry as well.
Here's some more from Erin:

Jean/Joseph-
Nice!
I really did not like my choices, but after long and hard consideration, and listening to the debates and yes, reading the Patch and digging deeper, there was just no way I could vote for Obama. There might be a few things I agree with him on, but the scales were greatly tipped the other way - and based on his track record over the last 4 years, how could I vote for him?
And, even if you want to blame the Reps for the lack of getting anything done in Congress, the fact is Obama has not done what Clinton did - tried to work with the other side. And if you want to blame the Reps, OK. But the fact remains, he will not be an effective president either way, so what good is he in the oval office. You can keep blaming, but face reality, he is doomed to be ineffective. And, I believe more in the Rep philosophy of people doing for themselves than expecting the government to provide for them. The government should be there for those truly in need - the sick and elderly, and those who need help for a short time because of bad circumstances, NOT a way of life.

1. Because he was not the one we were waiting for.
2. “Forward.”
3. Because Julia needs to get off her lazy, federally subsidized butt, get a real job, and pay for her own damned birth-control pills.
4. Because lots of people fail at their first real job.
5. Because “Winning the Future” was not a very good slogan back in 2005 when it was Newt’s.
6. Because the country is ready for its first African-American former president.
7. To give him the free time to write his third memoir.
8. Because he’ll have even more “flexibility” after November if he’s back in Chicago.
9. Joe Biden.
10. So that dissent will once again be the highest form of patriotism.
Brian Andrews
10:54 pm on Friday, October 26, 2012
Reasons to vote against Obama:
11. Because he didn’t quite get the message in 2010.
12. For claiming that he would cut the deficit in half.
13. And then adding more than $5 trillion in new debt.
14. To remind him that debt used to be, in his own words, “unpatriotic.”
15. Because the buck never stops.
16. For blaming President Bush.
17. For blaming headwinds.
18. For blaming Japanese earthquakes.
19. For blaming ATMs.
20. He can’t get the vice president to stop calling him “Barack” in public.
Brian Andrews
10:55 pm on Friday, October 26, 2012
Reasons to vote against Obama:
21. Gabby Giffords shooting commemorative T-shirts and pep rally.
22. Because he listened to the Reverend Wright’s crackpot racist diatribes for years and then gave us a lecture on racism.
23. For ignoring his own deficit commission.
24. Because of an $800 billion stimulus bill.
25. “Shovel-ready” projects.
26. The non-existence of shovel-ready projects.
27. For joking about the non-existence of shovel-ready projects.
28. Because “jobs created or saved” is Enron accounting.
29. Because there were stimulus grants in imaginary ZIP codes.
30. For proposing a $53 billion high-speed-rail project while Amtrak is still losing hundreds of millions of dollars a year
Brian Andrews
10:56 pm on Friday, October 26, 2012
Reasons for voting against Obama
31. For repeatedly citing the 2007 Minnesota bridge collapse as evidence of the need for expanded infrastructure spending when federal investigators ruled that bad design, not disrepair, caused the collapse.
32. For 613 new federal regulations in the first 33 months of his presidency.
33. And because 129 of those regulations will each cost the economy more than $100 million a year.
34. Because the Small Business Administration estimates the price of current regulations at $1.75 trillion annually — a bigger burden than the corporate income tax.
35. Because his neck must be hurting from keeping his chin up in the air for nearly four years.
36. Because Cass Sunstein boasted about an “unprecedentedly ambitious government-wide review” of regulation that saved only $2 billion per year, or 0.1 percent of the cost of regulatory compliance.
37. “The private sector is doing fine.”
38. Because the private sector isn’t doing fine.
39. Because his administration predicted the stimulus would keep unemployment below 8 percent.
40. February 9, 2009: “If we get things right, then starting next year, we can start seeing some significant improvement” on the employment front.
Brian Andrews
10:57 pm on Friday, October 26, 2012
More reasons for voting against Obama:
41. Because now we have a 24 percent unemployment rate for people 16 to 19 years old.
42. Because the lowest the unemployment rate was during the Obama administration was 8.1 percent.
43. Because the current unemployment rate is 8.3 percent.
44. Because 4 million Americans have been out of work for more than a year.
45. Because the black unemployment rate is 14.4 percent.
46. And the Hispanic unemployment rate is 10.3 percent.
47. And because the real unemployment rate — including those who have abandoned the job hunt — is even higher.
48. Because the percentage of working-age Americans who are employed has dropped from 61 percent to 58 percent — and stayed there.
49. Because, in his own words, his “first job is to make sure the economy is growing, that we’re creating jobs out there.” You said it, not us.
50. Because he spent all of 2007 and 2008 imploring us to send him to Washington and, now that he has the job, he can’t stop whining about how much he hates it there.
Brian Andrews
10:58 pm on Friday, October 26, 2012
More Reasons to Support Romney:
51. Because Nicholas Thompson, the vice president of polling firm The Tarrance Group, while discussing public views of Obama, said that “there’s a lot of people who feel sorry for him.” We should help them out.
52. Because when unemployment hit 10.2 percent, he extolled the economy’s “core strengths.”
53. Because in a fundraising e-mail of September 1, 2011, he demanded that Republicans “take action on” a jobs plan that he had not yet released.
54. Revising his tune on the recovery in December 2011, he said: “It’s going to take more than two years. It’s going to take more than one term. It probably takes more than one president.” We agree with that last part.
55. Because he promised to “ban all earmarks.”
56. But he didn’t ban earmarks.
57. And he promised to go “line by line” through legislation.
58. But of course he didn’t go line by line through legislation, and in the case of Obamacare apparently didn’t go through it at all.
59. “Let me be perfectly clear.”
60. Because corpsmen deserve a president who can pronounce “corpsman.”
Brian Andrews
10:59 pm on Friday, October 26, 2012
More Reasons to Support Mitt:
61. Because Jay Carney is the least credible press secretary since Dee Dee Myers had to stand there pretending that she didn’t know what she knew about Bill Clinton.
62. Because Americans deserve the opportunity to see which White House pet will ride atop the Romney presidential limousine.
63. So you’ll be able to criticize the president again without being called a racist.
64. Because there are 46 million people on food stamps.
65. And spending on food stamps doubled from $39 billion in 2008 to $81 billion in 2012.
66. For the existence of food-stamp parties.
67. And the proliferation of food-stamp advertisements.
68. Because he launched the most harebrained foreclosure scheme imaginable.
69. And because there were a record 2.8 million foreclosures in 2009.
70. And then a record 2.9 million foreclosures in 2010.

71. Recovery Summer.
72. Recovery Summer II.
73. Recovery Summer III.
74. Because America cannot handle any more Recovery Summer sequels.
75. To affirm that 50 states are enough.
76. Because he values Jon Corzine’s advice.
77. Because he values Joe Biden’s advice.
78. The fact that the stimulus spent $9.38 million to renovate a train depot that has been closed for 30 years.
79. And $762,000 to develop YouTube–like dance software.
80. And invested $2.5 million in dead people.

84. As well as $30 million to the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies to build a training complex.
85. And $200,000 to help Siberians lobby their legislators.
86. And $700,000 to help crab fishermen to recover their crab pots.
87. And more to get monkeys high on cocaine.
88. For that vice-presidential salute to “the people building smart toasters . . . this is real stuff.”
89. Because the stimulus included an earmark for a Los Angeles–Las Vegas Maglev railway.
90. And there is not going to be a Los Angeles–Las Vegas Maglev railway

94. And his successor, Bill Daley of JP Morgan.
95. And his successor, Jacob Lew of Citigroup.
96. Because we wouldn’t mind seeing Goldman Sachs take a loss on this particular investment.
97. Because since he took office, real median household income is down $4,300.
98. Because he can’t distinguish between conservatism and anarchism.

103. “You know, I actually believe my own bulls**t.”
104. Yeah, we know.
105. We need a president accustomed to signing the front, not the back, of checks.
106. Because he promised to rely on public financing for his campaign, then reneged.
107. For railing against money in politics while spending record amounts.

134. And a 40 percent excise tax on “Cadillac” health-insurance plans.
135. The fact that we still own Cadillac.
136. Eliminating the “deduction for expenses allocable to Medicare Part D” will cost beneficiaries $4.5 billion.
137. The president’s health-care bill wasn’t going to add “one dime” to the deficit.
138. It will add 10 million tons of dimes to the deficit.
139. Because 15 percent of Part A hospital providers will become unprofitable over the next ten years.
140. For 1,200 Obamacare waivers.

Candidate Obama: "The problem is, is that the way Bush has done it over the last eight years is to take out a credit card from the Bank of China in the name of our children, driving up our national debt from $5 trillion for the first 42 presidents – #43 added $4 trillion by his lonesome, so that we now have over $9 trillion of debt that we are going to have to pay back - $30,000 for every man, woman and child. That's irresponsible. It's unpatriotic." (July 3, 2008)
DIDN'T WE ALL BELIEVE HIM??

If the Dems can pass Obamacare then surely they can pass the fix to this right? Heck if they can pass Obamacare, they can pass anything if they really really want to.
That is why Sherrod Brown is a liar. He voted to raise the debt and cut taxes and now claims to be against the debt and for higher taxes.

According to Obama's 2012 budget which is on the government website
Medicare spending for 2012 equals $478 Billon. Medicaid spending equals $255 Billion. That's $733 Billion in spending.
Medicare taxes collected equal $226 Billion.
That leaves a shortfall for these 2 programs just for 2012 of $500+ Billion.
Since we know we have a budget deficit - over $1 Trillion or so, we borrow this money and the debt grows increasing our interest expense and adding more burden to our children and grandchildren.

Consider these facts before you vote:
1. Is the economy better off now than it was four years ago? Based on the evidence, I'd have to say no. Wages are down, the the prices of everything we buy is up. The price of gas has doubled. Good jobs are scarce.
2. Are the slight "up tics" in the economy a solid trend in the right direction? I don't think so. First, the gains are very slight. Second, I believe they are the result in the temporary stimulus by the Federal Reserve, in which they printed a lot of new money. It provides a slight bump now, but the cost will come later - after the election. Ben Bernanke is trying to save Obama's job, along with his own.
3. The continual misrepresentation of Romney on the auto bailout by the Obama administration. Obama appears to be taking complete credit for the bailout, while simultaneously saying that Romney was for liquidation of the auto industry. This is an absolute falsehood. It was Bush who initiated the bailout and TARP. Obama continued it and then expanded it, to his credit. However, Romney was one of the first to say that the industry needed to go through bankruptcy reorganization, and eventually they did exactly that. He also said that any needed loans should come from the private sector. He never said that the industry should be liquidated, or that he would deny federal funds if he were president, and private sector funds were not available. Obama lies!

What Democrat policy has ever worked? If they worked, why do we still have poor people, why are the cities war zones, why do we have 16 trillion debt, why are urban schools not as competitive even though they get more money, why do we have 25 million unemployed?
Why do government employees make more than US?
National unemployment 8%
Cleveland unemployment 9.4.%
Detroit unemployment 19.6%
Camden unemployment 18.8%
Chicago 10.3%
LA 12.3%
Philadelphia 11.5%
WHY if all the Democrat polices are supposed to work?
Yet these will be the cities the vote for Obama 90%.......go figure.
It's amazing that all the data proves Democrats policies don't accomplish what they say......unless the goal is total dependency.....is that why 47 million are on food stamps and welfare spending is higher than the military, medicare or even social security.
Welfare spending is 10% of the US GDP. It's its own business.

The real flip-flopper is Obama... Obama has done that so many times it's hard to keep track. He voted against increasing the debt limit, and then supported raising it. Campaigned against the Bush tax cuts, and then extended them. Promised to cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term, and then doubled it. Vowed the unemployment rate would be below 8% if his stimulus was passed, but then it broke 10%. Only an artificial stimulus by the Federal Reserve now has it under 8%, barely. Promised shovel ready jobs, then admitted they weren't shovel ready. Said if you like your health plan you can keep it, but then threw seniors off Medicare Plus and employers are now saying they'll dump people onto the public exchange. Promised to have health care negotiations on live tv, but then reversed himself. Indicated Bush violated the Constitution, then carried out warrantless wiretaps, indefinite detentions, secret renditions, quadrupled drone attacks, and kept Guantanamo Bay open. Voted against the Patriot Act, but then supported its extension. Said lobbyists wouldn't work in the White House, then gave them waivers to work there. Vowed to take public financing for his 2008 campaign, then refused it when he realized he would receive more without it. Obama said his administration would be the most transparent in history. Yet his lies and coverup attempts on Benghazi are still at hand, while he tries to wait it out past the election.

The Debates gave us a look at each candidate.Romney CHANGED his positions drastically in hopes to win votes by fooling people....... Quite simply there is no math that shows that Romney's $5 trillion tax cut can be revenue neutral by eliminating deductions just for the wealthy. It wil effect the middle class or swell the deficit to unprecedented levels....... Tax cuts for the wealthy simply have not delivered what we were told they would in the Bush Era. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Going BACK to the FAILED BUSH POLICIES MITT EMBRACES, WOULD BE A DISASTER FOR THE MIDDLE CLASS!

Looking at the facts...Republicans have the gall to claim Obama’s Policies are failing…when the House Republican’s are deliberately BLOCKING bills that can help our families....Despite this lack of cooperation from the Right Wing Tea Party Republicans, Obama was able to*...(1) Economic stimulus package, which rescued the world economy from collapse. Much of the money given to banks has been paid back with interest. (2) Fraud Enforcement and Recovery Act (FERA), greatly strengthening protections against mortgage fraud *...(3) Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility, and Disclosure Act, protecting against excessive rate increases and other abuses *...(4) Unemployment insurance for up to 99 weeks for the unemployed and modernized state UI programs to cover more of the unemployed.*...
(5) Auto industry rescue, which saved tens of thousands of jobs and stabilized the economies of auto-industry states. (6) Signed the HIRE (Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment) Act, which provides incentives for small businesses and other measures that foster job creation*...I am a Republican who is voting in the BEST interest of my family. As far as Barrack Obama...whatever faults he has, they are nothing compared to those of his opponent. Obama has been intellectually honest with the public, respectful of his critics, willing to listen to people of opposing views. He has led the nation into a steadily stronger economy.

dear small business,
I am so tired of hearing about the "job creators". Here is a secret; businesses, especially mega corporations, are NOT job creators! Consumers are. Without them no business would hire, with them they must. The problem is that the consumers do not have any money to spend. Most of the money, and more each day, is being held at the top out of the hands of the consumer. Wonder why your small business is doing poorly? It's not because of teachers and safety personnel. Big business has you convinced they are on your side. They liquidate companies and ship them over seas which is good business for them but hurts you. Until we have regulations and taxes to encourage companies to give raises and benefits to workers instead of hording all the profits for shareholders, small business will continue to tank while wall street and the 1% thrive.
