No Severe Injuries in Wednesday's Champion Trail Fire
One firefighter was treated for a moderate injury and was released
There were no severe injuries after a house fire on Champion Trail on Wednesday night.
The Twinsburg Fire Department was called to 2289 Champion Trail at 6:45 p.m. for a two-story house fire, according to a press release. Firefighters couldn't initially find the source of the fire, until a crew from Reminderville re-entered the house from the basement. The fire rapidly expanded and extended through the ceiling, into the first floor, Chief Richard Racine said.
There was heavy fire damage on all three floors of the house, as well as "extensive heat and smoke damage."
The family who owned the home had come back to find the house on fire, but no one was hurt. According to the report, one firefighter sustained a moderate injury during the fire and was transported to University Hospital in Twinsburg for evaluation and was later released to follow-up with a personal doctor.
Inspectors will return to the scene today to determine where and how the fire started.
The family, two adults and two young children, are staying with a neighbor until a more permenant place is available.
Fire crews from Solon, Aurora, Reminderville, Oakwood, Hudson, Bedford Heights EMS, Northfield Center EMS and Northfield Village EMS responded to a request for mutual aid.
