Police Dog Finds Drugs During Traffic Stop

A police dog sniffed out drugs during a traffic stop, leading to drug abuse charges for the male driver, according to Twinsburg Police.

The driver was pulled over by a police officer after he ran a red light on Aurora Road near Interstate 480 at about 2:30 a.m. on Dec. 1., according to the police report.

The officer used a police dog to search the car. The dog sniffed out marijuana in a sandwich bag and a marijuana cigarette in the middle console, and also found a grinder with marijuana residue on the drivers seat, the report reads.

The driver was cited for drug abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia and running a red light.

He will appear in Stow Municipal Court on Dec. 7.
