Second Cleveland Clinic Helipad Ready for Take Off
Twinsburg Planning Commission unanimously approved Cleveland Clinic's plans for a second helipad at its Darrow Road campus
Plans for a second helipad at the Cleveland Clinic in Twinsburg will move ahead, according to the Twinsburg Bulletin.
The paper reports the plans were unanimously approved by planning commission Monday night.
The Cleveland Clinic Twinsburg Family Health & Surgery Center is hoping to build a second, smaller helipad at its 8721 Darrow Road facility.
“It’s another, smaller adjacent concrete pad in case there is a helicopter already on the existing pad,” Larry Finch, city planning director, said at a June 19 meeting.
Some residents have already lodged complaintsabout the noise created by the Clinic’s lifelight helicopters. Finch said the new plans would only bring in a new chopper in emergency situations.
“The intent is not to double their flights, but to land one if a helicopter is already on the pad,” Finch said.
