Two women who were arrested in connection to the 2008 murder of Twinsburg police officer Joshua Miktarian pleaded not guilty to charges of obstructing justice and tampering with evidence Wednesday, according to the Cuyahoga County Clerk of Court's Office.
Bridget Robinson, sister of Miktarian's killer, Ashford Thompson, pleaded not guilty to two charges of obstruction of justice, two counts of attempted obstruction of justice and two charges of tampering with evidence.
Danielle Roberson, Thompson's former girlfriend, pleaded not guilty to two charges of obstruction of justice and one count of tampering with evidence.
According to the Plain Dealer, both women were arrested by the U.S. Marshall's Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force around noon on May 1.
The Plain Dealer reports Roberson was in the car at the time of the shooting and removed the gun from the car. Robinson is accused of trying to free Thompson from his handcuffs after he fled the scene of the July 13, 2008 shooting.
Thompson was convicted and sentenced to death for shooting Miktarian in the head four times during a routine traffic stop.
Bond for both women was set at $50,000.
