The Solon City Council approved a three-year agreement to house Twinsburg's prisoners at the Solon jail.

The Twinsburg City Council had already approved the agreement, which is a three-year deal that will pay Solon $85,200 per year.

Twinsburg Police Chief Chris Noga said the deal will save the city money.

"There will be actual savings in this," Noga said.

Twinsburg police currently operates a 12-day facility. The operation cost for 2011 was $152,000 including labor, supplies, feeding prisoners, according to Noga.

Potential savings in this agreement could be anywhere from $60,000 to $100,000, Noga said.

Solon has spent the year making contracts with many surrounding communities to house their prisoners at the city's full-service jail.
