Solon: Deer Jumps Through Living Room Window

The information in this report is from the Solon Police Department.

A Solon woman was sitting in the living room of her Glenallen Avenue home Tuesday night when a deer crashed through her bay window, according to a report from the Solon Police.

The woman told police the deer jumped through at about 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 4. The deer began running around inside the house and eventually ran through the front door.

No one in the home was injured and the only damage was to the window and the screen door.

Deer are controversial animals in Solon these days, with city council considering culling efforts to reduce their population and many residents seeking to ban deer hunting in the city with a ballot initiative that will be decided on Nov. 8.

But deers launching themselves into living-room windows isn't the primary concern. Solon officials want to reduce the population to limit the number of car accidents involving deer.
