Speeding Motorcyclist Tries To Elude Cops, Fails

The information in this report is from the Solon Police. An arrest does not mean a conviction.

A 23-year-old Twinsburg man clearly thought his motorcycle was fast.

That's because Solon Police officers saw the man speeding and weaving on Aug. 5 as he drove down SOM Center Road, according to a police report.

The officers  signaled the man to pull over, but he did the opposite: He sped up.

Officers said the motorcyclist, who reached speeds of 80 miles per hour at one point, weaved through traffic, ran a red light at SOM Center and Cromwell Drive.

But police eventually caught him, pulling him over near Lisa Lane.

Officers arrested Derrek R. Ruffenbarger, 23, of Twinsburg, and charged with with reckless operation and fleeing and eluding.
