Stow Loses Football Game to Twinsburg in Double Overtime
The Bulldogs scored in the first quarter and it went unanswered by the Tigers until the fourth quarter sending the game into overtime — twice.
It was a good fight for the Stow-Munroe Falls Bulldogs, but the Twinsburg High School Tigers came through with a win after Jalen Washington threw a 20-yard pass to Kon Grewal in the second overtime.
Special mention to:
- Bulldog Brian Baranowski for a 2-yard run touchdown in the first quarter. Kicker Kyle Wright made the extra point.
- Tyrone McGuinea for a 1-yard run touchdown in the fourth quarter. Kicker Frank Candau made the extra point.

Last nights game was yet ANOTHER disappointment......not the fact that the Bulldogs lost but the fact that the coaching staff ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO UTILIZE THE TALENT THAT THEY HAVE!!!!!!!!!! Week after Week I've seen #7 & #40 control the offensive plays while there are four other skilled postions that could be used to help the Bulldogs win football games. If a high school coaching staff watches film or scouts like they do and should, then they know that Stow only uses #7 & #40 to move the ball down field with qb read wrap right or left then give it to #40 and if that doesnt work then they pass it to #8 but since hes hurt it stays between Beech and Groves because those are the only players that can play? ...WRONG!!!!! The Bulldogs have a team FULL of players that are able to make plays, for example: #9,11,8,47,16,5,32,10,18 and the whole offensive line so why not use these other players to help out your "superstars" #7 & #40!!!!!! And who blitzes a field-side corner with no safety over top?? Great call! Another game that shouldve been a win, in overtime, lost by a bad coaching decision!

This is the same poor coaching that has been in the Stow Youth organization for years!! It is a bad philosphy severely limits the pool of boys who are even willing to play football after years of standing on the sidelines! Stow needs to build an effective feeder program at the youth level for any hope of improving the highschool program.

Respectfully, I could not agree less with this comment. My experience with the Stow Youth coaches has been extremely positive. Proper technique, team effort, the importance of the line, defensive positioning, and high expectations of the kids. Volunteering day after day on behalf of kids who bring a mixed bag of natural talent and ability. Kudos.

Is the Stow Athletic department, even involved with SYF? Last time I heard they were not. Oh Stevie, when have you ever agreed? Or are you one of the coaches?

Precious few people still call me "Stevie." What an oddly familiar comment.
Regardless, nope, I'm not a coach. Just a parent seeing his son growing and getting better as a result of hard-working coaches. Paying a compliment when I believe one is due.

This is not about the SYF program, at all. This is about an entire HS team being built around one or two players and not getting the job done year after year! It takes 11 players to win a game, so why isnt ALL of the talent on the Stow Highschool Varsity team being utilized to win instead of hoping to have one superstar player and failing repeatedly!!!! What about the speed on the team, why is the speed not being used in positions that speed is the key element needed? the whole team is set up to lose, they have players in wrong postions and changes are never made so we see the same show every week. Its a shame, we have boys who stay in Stow hoping that "this will be the year" and year after year they get let down! The coaching staff needs to reevaluate and make some changes or this will never be a successful team. I dont think the coaching staff is even aware of the talent they are sitting on because they are too busy running the same plays over and over and over with the QB/RB until they lose the game! So over it!

Well now then, this might not pertain to just Football. Maybe the whole athletic department needs a clean sweep?
