A suspected drunken driver was hit with alcohol- and drug-related charges on Feb. 23 after he was caught speeding and swerving on Glenwood Drive.

According to a Twinsburg police report, Thomas R. Nowowiejski nearly drove off a bridge, located just before Chestnut Trail, as an officer pulled him over.

Nowowiejski, 24, of Holland, was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a first-degree misdemeanor; drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor; and speeding and weaving, both minor misdemeanors, according to www.stowmunicourt.com.

He was taken to Solon Jail and held on bond after refusing to cooperate with booking procedures at the Twinsburg jail.

Nowowiejski is set to appear in Stow Municipal Court at 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
