Thanksgiving Weekend Things to Do

We rounded up a few things to do this weekend before and after you carve the turkey.

 

Once the main event is over, many families still have restless kids and grown-up guests for three more days Thanksgiving weekend.

But we’ve got you covered. Check the list below for great things to do over Thanksgiving weekend.

Annual Thanksgiving Brunch Bunch

What: This charity auction features guest auctioneers from Kent State Athletics and all the free coffee, cider and doughnuts you can eat. Prizes/auction items include memorabilia from the 2012 College World Series and tickets to see the Golden Flashes play in the MAC Championship game and a ride on the Goodyear Blimp.

When: Nov. 22, 8 am-Noon

Where: Kent American Legion (Underwood Hall)

Cost: $3 Donation at the door

Free Admission At Cleveland MetroParks Zoo

What: Thanksgiving at the Zoo

When: Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: Cleveland MetroParks Zoo, 3900 Wildlife Way, Cleveland, Ohio 44109

Cost: Free

Glow at the Garden

What: The Cleveland Botanical Garden opens its winter exhibit, complete with evergreens, train rides, make-your-own gingerbread houses and musicians and carolers, this weekend.

When: Friday, Nov. 23, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Exhibit runs through December 31.

Where: Cleveland Botanical Garden, 11030 East Boulevard Cleveland, Ohio 44106

Cost: $12 adults, $6.50 children, members get in free

See Santa at the Wye Road Bridge Lighting Festival

What: An annual festival to kick off the holiday season in Bath Township. Included carolers, a visit with Santa and snacks.

When: Friday, Nov. 23, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Where: 788 Wye Road, Akron

Cost: Free

Ice Rink at Falls River Square Opening Day

The Falls River Ice Rink opens with a bang (literally) this weekend with fireworks, shopping, an ice skating show, a visit with Santa and more.

When: Saturday, Nov. 24, noon to 9 p.m.

Where: Falls River Square, 2085 Front St, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221 Cost: Free
