Twins Days Festival Looks For a Bigger Year

This year's event has already beat out 2011 pre-registration numbers.

If 2011 was a good year for the Twins Days Festival, pre-registration numbers are showing 2012 will be even better in Twinsburg.

"The numbers for this year are far higher than last year's pre-registration," Sandy Miller, festival office manager, said.

Miller said 1,300 sets of twins have already signed up for this year, 250 sets ahead of 2011.

This year's festival begins Friday, August 3. Check out the schedule of events here.

While the pre-registration numbers are looking good, Miller said they are typically one-third of the total attendance.

She believes the sets of twins this weekend could push 2,500.

"It's hard to tell, but based on phone calls it looks like we'll have a healthy on site registration," Miller said.

The reason for attendance each year can vary, depending on the weather and the economy and other factors, she said.

Speaking of the weather, it looks like it won't be a bad weekend. Look for highs in the upper 80s with slight chances of rain each day.
