Twinsburg Graduate Drafted By Major League Soccer Team

Brad Stuver, a 2009 Twinsburg High School graduate, was drafted No. 32 overall in the MLS draft. He was the first goalie selected.

 

Twinsburg High graduate Brad Stuver is going to be a professional soccer player.

Stuver was selected No. 32 overall in the Major League Soccer SuperDraft on Thursday, according to Cleveland State. A standout goalie for Cleveland State, Stuver was the first goalkeeper taken and the first CSU Viking to ever be drafted into MLS.

Stuver was selected by the Montreal Impact.

A four-year starter for the Vikings, Stuver made 81 saves and posted an 0.86 goals against average this past season. He also recorded nine shutouts, tied for the second most in a season in school history.

At Twinsburg, Stuver earned All-Ohio honors. He finished his high school career with 24 shutouts in goal and 12 goals and three assists as a midfielder.

After being drafted, Stuver tweeted: "thanks to everyone who has reached out to me today, im very thankful for all the well wishes!"
