Twinsburg Teens Caught With Booze, Tobacco in Traffic Stop

Pulled over for not using headlights, a Twinsburg trio was busted for alcohol and chew

Using headlights at night not only helps you see where you're going, but it also avoids unwanted attention from Twinsburg police.

Around 9:15 p.m. on July 15 an officer saw a car at the intersection of Darrow and East Aurora Roads with no headlights on and pulled the car over.

While walking to the car the officer noted the passengers were "moving rapidly" inside the car.

The officer saw three males in the car, including the 18-year-old driver and two 17-year-old passengers, all from Twinsburg.

All of them said there was nothing illegal in the car, until the officer spotted a yellow cup on the floor which he said was an alcoholic drink.

All three were taken out of the car and searched. One of the 17-year-old passengers was found with a can of Skoal in his pocket.

The driver was cited for contributing to the delinquincy of a minor and driving without using headlights.

The passenger with the tobacco was cited for underage possession of alcohol and tobacco and released to his parents.

The third passenger was released at the scene.
