As temperatures climb in Northeast Ohio, the amount of bizarre incidents reported to police departments is rising, too. Here are some of this week's weird calls and charges. All information was provided by police reports from departments in Patch communities. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Pricey panties stolen: It appears that an undergarment thief made a clean getaway from SouthPark Mall in Strongsville.

According to a police report, someone stole about 150 pairs of panties from a display table on June 23 at the mall's Victoria's Secret location. The panties are collectively valued at $1,362.

Police have named no suspects.

More VS bandits: A week earlier, the Victoria's Secret at Summit Mall was also hit with a theft.

An employee told police said a man came in seeking advice on which skirt to buy for his girlfriend. While he held up the skirt in the worker's face, two women began shoving panties and yoga pants into a bag.

A report states 40 articles valued at $769 were stolen. Police did not find any suspects.

Victim arrested: It's always a good idea to contact police if you're the victim of a theft — unless you're already wanted for a crime.

Beachwood Police said a male went to the station June 20 to report that $1,899 of merchandise was stolen from his car at the Beachwood Family Aquatic Center. The items included clothing, a watch and a phone. However, police soon learned that he had a warrant out for his arrest in Medina County. He was soon arrested.

A message in barbecue: Most people expect to find barbecue sauce on their ribs around this time of year, not their garage.

Residents of a Crystal Creek Drive home called Brecksville Police at 1:30 a.m. on June 15 after hearing a person hitting their house and knocking on their front door. Police were unable to find anyone in the area, but a neighbor advised the residents to check their garage door. The residents found a splattered egg on the front door and "FU" written on the garage in what appeared to be barbecue sauce.

The resident called again to report it, but no suspects were located.

Roadblocks in Stow: It's unclear why wheelbarrows, rocks and trash cans were placed to block traffic on several streets in Stow, but police know who to blame.

A resident called police about 2 a.m. to report that the items were blocking the intersection of Bunker Lane and Wexford Boulevard. Police soon found more landscaping items blocking parts of Eastewicke Boulevard and Oldham Way.

As officers cleaned up the area, two teenagers approached in a silver, four-door vehicle, but quickly stopped and turned around. When stopped by police, the teens admitted responsibility and provided names of two other juveniles who took part.

They were arrested and charged with criminal mischief, a third-degree misdemeanor. Stow Youth Services is handling the situation, police said.
