On May 5 Twinsburg police arrested a man for minor drug possession and an outstanding warrant. But it's what they found after his arrest that really landed him in hot water. Police charged King Todd with drug trafficking, a third-degree felony, after officers found 13 grams of cocaine in his car. Todd was pulled over by police after making a left turn on to Twin Hills Parkway from the right lane on S.R. 82. Sometimes a situation dictates that an officer must go where no one should ever have to. On Friday, May 4 Twinsburg police arrested and charged Hayley Washtock and Joseph Hahn for drug possession, drug abuse instruments, and possession of drug paraphernalia after officers found heroin and syringes hidden in their underwear. According to the police report, the pair were in a car that was pulled over at the GetGo on Hadden Road for an expired license plate. On May 6 a Twinsburg police officer saw a car weaving on Darrow Road and almost hit a sign when it turned onto Darrow Park Drive. During the traffic stop the officer smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic coming from the car. The driver said he was drinking and failed a series of sobriety tests. While one Twinsburg man may not have had a major role in a recent incident, the part he did play stole the show. While trying to get to the bottom of a situation on May 3, police tried to get more information from a Warren Parkway man. When police knocked on the door, the man answered in his birthday suit. Police were trying to figure out whether or not a woman had taken $1,000 from him earlier that eventing, as his roommate had accused. Twinsburg residents were stunned when nearly two weeks ago around 15 unlocked cars on Belmeadow Drive were opened and had items taken from them. The ironic twist in the story: The accused man was caught after someone robbed him at gunpoint. There has to be a better way to get your stuff back. On April 27 the security officer from Interteck on East Aurora Road called police because a recently-fired employee had been calling the business repeatedly. The woman originally called asking to speak to the officer manager. But, after being denied, she called back several more times demanding that her personal property be given to her. Officers contacted the woman who said she would stop calling and would be pursuing civil action against the company. The man accused of committing a string of thefts from cars on Belmeadow Drive in Twinsburg last week was caught after he was robbed at gunpoint in Twinsburg Township, according to Macedonia police. Lt. Vince Yakopovich said Clayton Anderson, 27, has already pleaded guilty to theft charges at a recent arraignment and could face up to 30. After a string of similar thefts in Macedonia, one resident caught Anderson's car on a security camera. Police found that car at a local hotel. However, Anderson was arrested on April 24 after he was robbed at gunpoint in Twinsburg Township, where he was …
Mason jars aren't just for beer anymore. On April 25 Twinsburg police stopped a car on Cannon Road for speeding. During the stop officers smelled what they believed to be "raw marijuana" coming from the car. The driver didn't come forward with anything, so officers did a quick search. That's when they found a glass mason jar filled with marijuana inside a computer bag and a glass smoking pipe filled with marijuana on the passenger seat. A Dooridge Drive woman went to police on April 23 saying one of her family members has stole a 14 carat gold ring from her and hasn't returned her car. A 39-year-old woman went into the Twinsburg Fire Department on April 22 around 10:15 a.m. to ask them for directions. The problem? According to police Erica Chaney, of Lakewood, was drunk when she drove away. She asked the fire department for directions to the library, city hall and the fitness center, all of which were right next to the fire department. After she got her directions, a member of the department contacted officers to let them know she smelled of alcohol before she drove away. An Friday, April 20 Twinsburg police stopped a car for driving without headlights around 10:45 p.m. The driver, a juvenile, was arrested for drunken driving, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. On Monday, April 16, Twinsburg Police were called to the Dr Pepper/Snapple bottling plant for a theft. According to police, supervisors believe that a recently-fired employee walked away with $5,000 from the business this year. The case is still under investigation. Residents reported a number of thefts from unlocked cars on Belmeadow Drive sometime during Sunday night and early Monday morning. Twinsburg Police Chief Chris Noga said he's still getting reports, but at least 14 unlocked cars were gone through. "They didn't want to draw any attention, just going through unlocked cars down the street," Noga said. The department doesn't have any leads on who may have been behind the thefts. An Altamount Drive woman said a man stole the catalytic converter from her car on Monday, April 16. The 35-year-old woman said around 6 a.m. she saw a white male by her car with some tools. When she approached the man, he threw the tools in his trunk and fled in a black Chevrolet Cavalier. When the woman went back out to start her car for work it was extremely loud and she noticed her exhaust was hanging on the ground. Police said the catalytic converter had been removed. The suspect was described as a white male in his mid 30's,  and approximately 5'10" tall.
When the light turns green, it's best to drive. On Wednesday, April 11 a Twinsburg police officer saw a car stopped at a red light on State Route 91. But when the light turned green it sat at the light for about five seconds until the officer honked for the vehicle to go. That's when the car started weaving. A Twinsburg police officer was doing his duty on April 10, by helping an Aurora woman with car troubles in the Key Bank parking lot on East Aurora Road. However, the woman didn't help herself. The officer found she had been driving drunk and arrested her. After searching the vehicle he found a loaded handgun was found in the car's center console. During an April 8 traffic stop on I-480 Twinsburg police found the 37-year-old was driving under suspension. Officers found marijuana inside the car but also found a large sum of money on the man -- $3,900 to be exact. Twinsburg police got a report of a car sitting on the exit ramp of I-480 on State Route 82 with the "driver slumped over the wheel" on April 7. Officers located the car and arrested the driver on physical control charges. The passenger was arrested on drug possession and drug abuse charges. Twinsburg police arrested a man for refusing to leave the police station lobby on April 4. After his arrest officers found he was carrying a knife in his pocket. Dwayne Sawyer, 35, of Wooster, was charged with drunken and disorderly conduct, criminal trespassing and carrying a concealed weapon after he refused to leave the station when officers told him to. Sawyer -- along with two other men -- was in the lobby, demanding to know why police wouldn't release his friend to him on bond.  According to the police report, officers told Sawyer to pick his friend up at 5 a.m. the next day, asking him…
