We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.

Look for the kids’ planner each Monday, and help us build the planner with your own suggestions and tips — just add them to the comment box. Even if you disagree with our picks, let us know. We want to hear from you.

Why Go: Come in for some science of the most fun kind — hands-on! Participants will make and test some "flying objects" including a spiral spinner and a roto-copter. Best for kids in grades K-2. Registration required, do so beginning March 7, 2011. Registration can be on the phone, in person or online, please include the child's name, grade and a contact telephone number.

Why Go: Teens at the Library is a great club that allows teens to volunteer to work with children. You can also join in with the library activities.  This meeting is best for students in grades 7-12.

Why Go: Come out to the library for this marionette performance! The story of outspoken and never happy villain, Rumplestiltskin as he creates mayhem and craziness! Registration is required, call to see if there is availability.

Where/When: Twinsburg Public Library on Sunday from 2-4 p.m.

Why Go:The Library will feature a recent Disney release rated PG. Munchkins and their caregivers are invited to join in. Call 330-425-4268 ext 3 for movie title and to register
