Grab & Go Kids Planner: Touch Trucks, New Electronic Toys and More

With only weeks of school left, the kids are chomping at the bit. Here are some ways to take their minds off of the impending summer break

We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

Where/When: , Tuesday, May 17, from 2-5 p.m.

Why Go: Kids are invited to the Library for a day of Wii and fun! You will be able to play some of the latest games with new friends.

Where/When: , Thursday, May 19, from 4-5 p.m.

Why Go: Teens at the Library is a great club that allows teens to volunteer to work with children. You can also join in with the library activities.  This meeting is best for students in grades 7-12.

Where/When: , Saturday, May 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: At Touch-A-Truck, kids of all ages are able to see and explore the fire trucks, cement trucks, bulldozers, school buses close up – live and in person.

Where/When: , Saturday, May 20, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Why go: This event is set up to allow you to try out, or "test drive," the latest in technology. The Technology Petting Zoo offers a hands-on interaction with iPads, iPods, Nooks and more. The staff that leads the class will answer your questions and share tips for interacting with your library through technology.
