Great Escape: Still Time to Get to Ohio City's Open Air Market
Looking for a great outdoor activity before summer is over? We have an idea
Since 1970, Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood has been on a redevelopment rampage led by residents and artisans attracted to the historic architecture and diversity that urban living offers.
The culmination is a vibrant neighborhood that is home to an exciting array of shops and galleries, top-rated restaurants, microbreweries and beautifully refurbished residences. Most certainly, a great place for an afternoon escape.
The 2011 Open Air in Market Square, in its 14th season, features live music and an eclectic mix of vendors and local artisans every Saturday through Sept.+ 3 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. right across from West Side Market on Market Avenue.

Browse amongst the displays ranging from blown glass, unique gift items, handmade jewelry and home-baked pastries, or take a stroll along the tree-lined streets taking in the renovated storefronts and charm of this community just west of downtown.
And when you are ready for a rest, there’s always the beer “sampler” at Great Lakes Brewing Company, a falafel at Nate’s Deli or a brat from West Side Market.
