Play Snowball: Softball Tourney Raises Money for Relay

All proceeds benefit American Cancer Society, Relay for Life of Twinsburg/Nordonia.

It's never too cold for a little softball.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Twinsburg/Nordonia is hosting its sixth Annual Co-Ed Snowball Softball Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 18, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the R.B. Chamberlin Fields, 10270 Ravenna Rd.

John Depiore organizes the event on behalf of Relay team Livia’s Leapers, honoring his daughter Olivia, who at age six was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

In its first five years the event has raised $10,000.  Last year’s event included eight teams competing in one of Ohio’s snowiest winters on record.

“Frostbite is nothing compared to cancer,” Depiore said in a press release.
