Self-Defense Class Raises Money For Wong Children

About 35 women came to Twinsburg Karate Institute to learn self defense techniques and donate money to help the two children of the late Tami Wong.

A number of genererous women donated more than $600 to help the children of the late Tami Wong during a self-defense fundraiser at the Twinsburg Karate Institute on Wednesday.

Sensei Reggie Brown, the owner of the institute, said that about 35 women attended and donated about $635.

Thank you to all of those who attended the Women's Self- Defense Class," Brown said on Facebook. "I would like to thank all of you for you generosity!"

Tami Wong died in a domestic incident in February. Her husband, Glenn Wong, has been charged with aggravated murder. His case is pending before a Summit County grand jury.

The couple had two children, a 10-year-old daughter and an 8-year-old son.

Brown said all the money collected will be donated to the family fund.
