A number of genererous women donated more than $600 to help the children of the late Tami Wong during a self-defense fundraiser at the Twinsburg Karate Institute on Wednesday.
Sensei Reggie Brown, the owner of the institute, said that about 35 women attended and donated about $635.
Thank you to all of those who attended the Women's Self- Defense Class," Brown said on Facebook. "I would like to thank all of you for you generosity!"
Tami Wong died in a domestic incident in February. Her husband, Glenn Wong, has been charged with aggravated murder. His case is pending before a Summit County grand jury.
The couple had two children, a 10-year-old daughter and an 8-year-old son.
Brown said all the money collected will be donated to the family fund.
