Solon: Vice President Joe Biden to Discuss Jobs at Local Business

The Vice President will visit Wrap-Tite Inc. in Solon at 11 a.m. today

Vice President Joe Biden will visit Wrap-Tite Inc. in Solon on Tuesday to talk about jobs and a new lending initiative.

Biden, who will be accompanied by Small Business Administration Administrator Karen Mills, is expected to speak at 11 a.m. at the Cochran Road business on "the important of the American Jobs Act for small businesses in Ohio and nationwide," according to a White House news release.

"The Vice President will discuss the urgent need for Congress to pass the American Jobs Act now in order to help small businesses across the country grow and put more Americans back to work," it reads.

The American Jobs Act is President Barack Obama's proposal to help decrease the unemployment rate by giving businesses incentive to hire new workers. It was announced earlier this month during a prime-time address.

Biden and Mills will also announce a "new lending committment" for businesses.

Wrap-Tite is a manufacturer and distributor of stretch wrap and other packaging and shipping products on Cochran Road. The firm recently received an SBA loan to assist in the purchase of a $1.5 million, 87,000 square-foot facility in Solon.  

The new facility has allowed Wrap Tite to continue its growth, leading to 5 new hires and $250,000 in equipment purchases over the last year, according to the news release.
