ARRESTED:  Missouri Fugitive Arrested in Westlake, Spotted by Citizen

A Missouri fugitive on the run since mid-August has been arrested in Westlake. He was seen in Westlake yesterday before being chased by authorities into Avon.

Westlake Police Captain Guy Turner said Brian Adkison was seen bicycling on Detroit Road near Cahoon Road by a citizen just after 1 p.m. on Sept. 4.

Strongsville Wants New I-71 Off Ramp to Howe Road

Strongsville officials believe they've found a way to unsnarl rush hour traffic on Royalton Road near I-71 — a new off-ramp that would bypass the congested Route 82 area and take traffic directly to Howe Road.

The project would mean building a new off-ramp for southbound I-71 traffic, one for motorists heading to the south part of Strongsville or into Brunswick.

Deceased Lake Catholic Graduate Michael Robinson Remembered on Social Media

Lake Catholic students, parents, administrators have mourned 2013 graduate Michael Robinson all week on social media.

His death was confirmed Saturday by Ohio University Police. His body was found in his dorm room over the weekend. His funeral took place Thursday morning in Mentor.

City Council to Review Pedestrian Safety

After several news stories about dangerous crosswalks — including our own that got the conversation started — it looks as if the city will consider how to make pedestrians a little safer in Lakewood.
