Don't miss these hot times at the TPL

It's Okay: A Play About Autism Wednesday, March 7 - 7:00pm Hiram College's Center for Literature, Medicine and Biomedical Humanities presents this fascinating look at the life of an autistic person. Written and performed by students Cara Battaglia, Allison Fox, and Amy Morton, and directed by Twinsburg resident Brittany Jackson, the play will travel to several different locations throughout Ohio. The plays host to the troupe on March 7, and we welcome members of the community to enjoy and learn from the play.

The Blues at TPL Preaching the Blues Monday, February 27 at 6:30 p.m. Dr. Peter Rutkoff, Professor and Chair of American Studies at Kenyon College, will be back to discuss American Blues and the music of Muddy Waters. Waters took the musical form from the Mississippi Delta to the clubs of Chicago and redefined the genre. This is a grant from the Ohio Humanities Council.

You may have noticed that the library's front doors are now open, but did you know that you can also open the doors to learning online? The library now subscribes to Universal Class, an online service that allows you to take continuing education and college-level classes online. Register for up to six courses, study with a real professor, and interact with your fellow students. Over 500 courses are available, covering topics like business, computer software, parenting, GED preparation, writing, cooking, and much more. College credit is not available, but continuing education units for your profession may be available. Ask a librarian for more information, or visit us online at www.twinsburglibrary.org. A Twinsburg Public Library card is required.

The Third Monday Book Group invites everyone to join them for an author visit via Skype. On February 20 at 1 p.m., Zoe Ferraris will discuss her book City of Veils, a murder mystery that offers a close look at the culture and beliefs of Saudi Muslims and the westerners that choose to live among them. Ferraris lived in Saudi Arabia with her Muslim husband and his family, and tells the story with humor and suspense. Wednesday, February 22 at 4:15 p.m. meet Tak and Ollie, the dogs from the popular books series by Sandra Philipson. Sandra will be here to read stories, sign books, and more. Registration began February 8. All ages.

Celebrate Laura Ingalls Wilder’s 145th birthday in Children’s Place on Monday, February 20 at 2:00 p.m. Children in kindergarten and up can spend President’s Day celebrating the author of the Little House series by playing pioneer games, making crafts and enjoying a special snack. Please register in Children’s Place.

Hunger Games Party-Thursday, March 22, from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Celebrate the release of "The Hunger Games" in theaters. We will be playing games, making a pin, and hosting a potluck. Please bring in a dish inspired by the book. For examples, see a teen librarian. You may also dress as you favorite character. May the odds be ever in your favor.

Practice SAT Exam--Tomorrow, February 17th, from 1:00 pm to 5:30 PM. This is a free test to prepare for the actual exam.

Practice ACT Exam--Saturday, March 3, from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm. This is a free test to prepare for the actual exam.

Anime Cosplay Party-Friday, March 16, from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Come dress as your favorite Anime character and participate in Japanese-themed activities including the Ramen Noodle Eating Contest!
