How to Upload Your Photos to Twinsburg Patch

Submitting pics is quick and easy with this step-by-step guide.

Uploading a photo to Twinsburg Patch is easy and quick once you know how to do it. Here's a simple how-to for you to follow.

  1. Sign up as a Patch user. To add a photo or other content such as events or announcements, you need to be a registered member of Patch. You can do this by clicking "Sign Up" at the top of the site.
  2. Select the photo that you'd like to upload.
  3. All photos should be original, meaning that you need to have taken them yourself. Photos should be in a "jpeg" or "jpg" format. This is the most common photo format. If you see an extension of your photo file that says "tif," "gif," "bmp," or something else, look for a way to save your photo as a "jpeg" or "jpg."
  4. Photos should be saved, if possible, at a medium size and a "resolution" of 72 dpi. If you do not know or have the ability to do this, don't worry too much; our system does some "crunching" for you. But the smaller the size of your image, the quicker it will upload to our site, so for efficiency, you may want to keep file sizes smaller.
  5. To add a photo, click on the link under the media gallery of any story that reads, "Upload Photos and Videos."
  6. This will take you to your computer's files, where you can choose an image that you wish to add. Click on it.
  7. Your photo will upload, and when it is done, you will have the ability to add a photo caption.
  8. Click to add caption information. You may also change the "photo credit" if you need to do so. If someone other than you took the photo, click to change that.
  9. Be sure to include in your caption information when and where your photo was taken and fully identify any people in the photo.
