Library to Finish 'WWII Reminiscences' Series
The library welcomes guest speaker Ed Ezaki, who was placed in a Japanese Internment Camp during World War II for the last segment of the summer.
World War II started over 70 years ago with the bombing of Pearl Harbor; ancient history to many who live in this 21st Century digital age.
In 1941 life was not virtual, it was real.
What was it really like to live in a world in which war visited every corner? Come to the to hear once-in-a-lifetime stories of real people who lived through the nightmare of WWII and then came home and built a nation.

Our third and final program of the summer will be held on Saturday, Aug. 18 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The program will continue for the fall beginning in September.

If you are aware of the classic book about the Japanese Internment during WWII, then Mr. Ezaki’s story will surely resonate with you.
Eddie Ezaki was nine years old when he and his family were interned in a hastily built camp in Arizona. They were held there from shortly after Dec. 7, 1941 to after WWII.
In one of the many ironies of WWII, thousands of young men (Japanese Americans) from the camps volunteered to join combat infantry units and ended up wearing the same uniforms as the camp guards who kept their parents and siblings imprisoned.
