VIDEO: Best-Selling Author to Appear at Twinsburg Library

Wayne Pacelle, author of 'The Bond,' will stop at the Twinsburg Public Library in June as a part of his book tour

A big name and best-selling author will make an appearance at the this summer.

Wayne Pacelle, the author of The Bond: Our Kinship With Animals, Our Call To Defend Them will be at the library for a book signing and discussion on Saturday, June 11, at noon.

Pacelle, who is also president and CEO of The Humane Society of the United States, will be showcasing his new book about the human connection with animals and how it is betrayed by animal cruelty.

Tim Burns, the adult public services manager for the library, said hosting an author like Pacelle is great for the community, but is also a help to the library.

“It not only opens up a book to circulate to our patrons, but it also gives us another area to see if patrons want that subject area,” Burns said.

This section of Pacelle’s book tour is sponsored by The Learned Owl Book Shop in Hudson and is no cost to the library. Typically the venue has to pay for the author to come out for an event, especially if the writer is well known.

“If you wanted James Patterson to come out and talk to you, you’ll spend a lot of money,” Burns said.

The Bond has appeared on multiple best-seller lists including The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times and The New York Times.
