Meet Your Perfect Match! The library is partnering again with the Humane Society of Greater Akron. On Saturday, February 4 from 10am to 12:30pm, the library will play host to some of the cuddliest and lovable animals available for adoption. Adopt and animal and enjoy the gift of unconditional love.

The Blues at TPL Preaching the Blues Monday, February 27th at 6:30 p.m. Dr. Peter Rutkoff, Professor and Chair of American Studies at Kenyon College, will be back to discuss American Blues and the music of Muddy Waters. Waters took the musical form from the Mississippi Delta to the clubs of Chicago and redefined the genre. This is a grant from the Ohio Humanities Council.

Learn to create beautiful embellished pages for your recipes to make a lovely gift cookbook on Monday, February 6 at 6:30 p.m. Bring a favorite recipe. Each participant will leave with a copy of everyone's decorated pages, plus a CD of scrapbooking resources.  This class is held in the library's Computer Classroom.  Familiarity with MS Publisher is required and a fee of about $3 will be collected at class time.  Space is limited to 11; two additional participants may attend with their own laptops.

The Third Monday Book Group invites everyone to join them for an author visit via Skype on February 20 at 1 p.m. Zoe Ferraris will discuss her book City of Veils, a murder mystery that offers a close look at the culture and beliefs of Saudi Muslims and the westerners that choose to live among them. Ferraris lived in Saudi Arabia with her Muslim husband and his family, and tells the story with humor and suspense. Copies of the book are available at the reference desk.

AARP Tax Aid volunteers will return to the Twinsburg Library on Tuesdays and Wednesdays beginning February 7 to provide tax form preparation help to seniors and low-income individuals. A Vintage Murder Friday, February 24 and Saturday, February 25 at 6:30pm Can you solve the clues and find the culprit? Join us for this year's interactive historical murder mystery. Tickets are $15 for a full spread of appetizers and desserts, catered by Red's Place. Tickets are limited, so sign up now. Online registration is not available; tickets may be reserved over the phone or in person. Registration begins January 23.

Long time, career and job training expert, Ebony Williams will present a three part series of classes focused on providing the job seeker Help Getting Hired. The 3-part series will be presented each month from February to May. The first class will demonstrate strategies for Selling Yourself to Employers. The second class will focus attention on that all-important resume – What’s Your Resume Saying about You? The third class is entitled Sealing the Deal: The Interview. The classes, which last 3 hours, will be presented on Mondays and Saturdays each month.

TeenCrossings

On Friday, February 10 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m., Bricks4Kidz, a local Lego instruction franchise, will be here to teach kids, 10 and up, how to construct really cool motorized things that go like cars and airplanes. Bring your dad, uncle, or grandpa so they can help race each other. We will also build Hero sandwiches. A refundable $5.00 check will be required to register.
