Frozen Oasis Gives City a Taste of Froyo

The newest location on Darrow Road in Twinsburg opened in July

Summer may be coming to an end, but there is never a bad time for frozen yogurt.

In late July Frozen Oasis opened its doors to the Twinsburg community in Town Center Plaza on Darrow Road, filling the space left by Quiznos.

Owner Tony Humber said he hasn't seen any frozen yogurt (or froyo) places in Twinsburg, so he figured the community could use it.

"We've been pretty successful as far as this concept has been taking off," Humbert said.

He said it was a perfect placement, in a high-traffic plaza next to Panini's and Mavis Winkle's.

Humbert owns the business with his sister, Teri Bostelman, and their spouses. They reside in Mentor, where they opened their second Frozen Oasis earlier this year.

Frozen Oasis's raison d'être is customization. It offers 10 different flavors of frozen yogurt, including classic tart, vanilla, triple chocolate, blueberry, peanut butter, mango sorbet and cookies & cream.

Customers can choose to combine as many flavors as they want and then garnish it with any of the shop's 50 different toppings. M&M’s, strawberries, oreos, Cap'n Crunch and cookie dough are just some of the options.

Finally, instead of paying by topping or yogurt flavor, the customer pays a flat rate based upon the weight of their dessert.
