Michael's Cafe Tripled Business With Cash Mob

Owner Lee Ann Roth said Saturday's cash mob was a success.

Michael's Catering and Cafe had a huge day Saturday as the latest spot for the Twinsburg Cash Mob.

Owner Lee Anne Roth said Saturdays are usually slow days, doing a quarter of the typical weekday business. But not last weekend.

"We tripled our business for a normal Saturday," Roth said.

Michael's recently started opening on Saturdays and even had to make some changes for the cash mob.

Roth said they had to beef up staff for the day and even extend the hours to accomodate the new business.

Cash Mob creator Michael Turle told her his planned hit a month before.

"I said, 'It sounds great!'" Roth said.

Most of the business came early, with a steady pace most of the day. Roth said a majority of people were new customers.

People that couldn't make it on Saturday came earlier in the week or a day later.

The flood of new customers made Roth and her restaurant a believer in the cash mob.

"We'll support all the next ones coming up," she said. "It's a fabulous idea."

All indications for the next cash mob spot point to Blue Jaye Farm in October, according to the group's Facebook page.
