Taylor, who grew up in Twinsburg and has since returned after living in Chicago, New York and London, said she has always enjoyed baking and entertaining. She said her cupcakes first became famous the old-fashioned way: She would make them for her daughter.

Of course, her daughter's friends loved them too, and then their parents were asking for cupcakes too, Taylor said.

Taylor said she thinks of cupcakes as a piece of art.

"They taste great, but I like to make my cupcakes very pretty too," Taylor said.

At Cup Caked, Taylor will have six flavors available every day along with a special daily flavor and monthly specials, which will be seasonal. The cupcakes have filling and are completely homemade.

The shop will also serve cookies and milkshakes and there will be coffee, tea and other beverages as well.

The shop also has a small party room to host birthday parties for children where they can decorate their own cupcakes, Taylor said.

Taylor was a manager over at Tru Value Hardware before the store closed, and said she misses the friends she made working at that local business.

"I miss the people of Twinsburg," she said "I can't wait to see them in here."
