Plain Dealer: Former Chrysler Plant Could Get New Life

The Plain Dealer reports a buyer is lined up for the former Chrysler plant

After the Chrysler plant closed in 2009, a deep cut to the Twinsburg economy, a plan to buy the property could give the city new life.

The Plain Dealer reports the DiGeronimo Cos. and Scannell Properties plan to buy the 167-acre property by the end of June.

While the price of the purchase wasn't disclosed, it could be one of the biggest real estate deals for the region this year, they report.

The companies plan to remove part of the current complex and construct new buildings on parts of the property.

According to the Plain Dealer, a representative for the seller, Maynards Industries Ltd., said the new partnership would be a great addition for Twinsburg to redevelop the property.
