Twinsburg Cash Mob Planning to Hit Up Local Business

will be the site of one of the first cash mobs to hit Twinsburg in the coming weeks.

Michael Turle, of Forest Lake Drive, was listening to the radio and got the idea to rally residents to storm a local business and spend at least $20. Once he heard it, he said it was a "no brainer."

"For $20 you can do your part and help spur local businesses," Turle said.

He didn't waste time either.

Hearing the commercial on Monday, he created the Facebook group "Twinsburg Cash Mob," which is up to nearly 270 members.

"The response is unbelievably overwhelming," he said. "People want to come out of the woodwork to help these guys."

"When people have the chance to do good, they will."

Turle said the event dates and times aren't official, plans to have it on Saturday, July 28. Store hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

The group is hoping to get more nominees from the member base of local businesses. They want to specifically target local businesses and will choose which ones based on the general consensus of the group.

Turle wants to stay away from the national conglomerates and help the small mom-and-pop shops around town.

"It's about supporting local businesses that have been hurt in this economic downturn," he said.
