'Old School' Committee to Appeal at Public Hearing
Public Notice of Appeal/Public Hearing on the 'Old School' and ARB approval of a application for 'Certificate of Appropriateness' for demolition.
The 'Old School' Committee, Chairperson, Peter Hale will present an Appeal before City Council on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 @ 8:30 pm. This is a public hearing per the appeal filed with the City regarding the approval by the Architectural Review Board of a Application for Certificate of Appropriateness that had been previously denied for the 'Old School' located at 8997 Darrow Road.
At issue is whether or not the City followed established lawful procedures in requesting a 'Certificate of Appropriateness' prior to applying with the Building Commissioner for a demolition permit and submitting a Demolition Plan and Demolition Site Plan? No application or demolition plan and demolition site plan exist according to a public records request filed with the city.Chairperson, Peter Hale addressed the Mayor and City Council last evening confirming both his attendance at the upcoming Appeal/Public Hearing on January 21st @ 8:30 p.m. and stated why he and the 'Old School Committee' believe the City has not followed established lawful procedures by going before the ARB prior to making application before the Building Commissioner and submitting a demolition plan and demolition site plan.
