5 Things to Know for a Better Wednesday

Here's to a great last day of August

Here we are, on the threshold of September and the beginning of the fall. But while summer was fun, the new months ahead offer many great things as well. First, football is about to start, and who isn't excited about that (OK, not everyone is as pumped as I am)? The leaves will soon start to fall (causing you more work). Heck, pretty soon the local will start brewing the pumpkin spice latte for the season.

So don't be down that the calendar is changing. There are still plenty of things to be excited about! Take these 5 things for example:

1. City council is holding a special meeting to adopt a resolution officially recognizing Sept. 11 , in honor of the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

2. Did you know ... The famous serial killer "Jack the Ripper" claimed his first victim in London on this day in 1888? He killed five people until he disappeared without a trace in 1892. Look it up.
