Candlelight Vigil Planned For Tami Wong

A candlelight memorial is planned for Tami Wong on Abrams Drive on Thursday evening.

UPDATE: The vigil is now scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday.

Tami Wong, the Abrams Drive resident who was slain Sunday at her home, will be remembered at a candlelight vigil Thursday night on Abrams Drive.

The vigil is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Attendees are asked to park west of Darien Lane and to walk to Abrams Drive because a large crowd is expected.

Attendees should bring a candle.

Councilman Ted Yates announced the vigil during Tuesday's city council meeting. Organizers of the vigil asked that media not attend, Yates said.

Tami Wong, 46, was stabbed to death in her home on Abrams Drive on Feb. 24. Her husband, Glenn Wong, 50, has been charged with aggravated murder in her death.

The couple's two children were at home during the incident. The 10-year-old daughter was the one who called 911.

The Twinsburg City Council held a moment of silence for Tami Wong Tuesday night and said a prayer for her two children.

"She was a friend, and always concerned about the city," said Councilman Seth Rodin. "Our thoughts and prayers are to her and her children."

I feel so sorry for those children and what they had to witness so unfair to them. My heart and prayers go out to them.

Really? I'm going on what Ted Yates said at the council meeting tonight. I'll try to find out and update the article.
