You may already know Himmel, a South Euclid native, from her work as an account executive for the Cleveland Jewish News, where she worked extensively with Beachwood and Solon clients. “I love the community,” she said. “It’s very community-oriented. It’s a very powerful community. Very, very close-knit.”

From CJN, Himmel moved to Living Social, where she sold web-based advertising and marketing products to cities east of Cleveland.

Himmel said her sales technique is more about honesty than sales.

“I’m not one to sell someone just to sell them,” she said. “I wouldn’t recommend them going on the site if it wasn’t for them. Because of the economy right now, people are cutting their budgets, so I try to put them in the best ad placement that they can be in, as well as in a plan that is a fit for their budget.”

Himmel earned her bachelor’s in finance at Kent State University. She’s married and has a puppy (Sam) and a cat (McKea). In her spare time she said she entertains – her annual themed Hannukah bashes are quite a hit – goes out on girls’ nights and completes crossword puzzles.

And she loves games of all kinds: during her interview for this article, she took less than a minute to beat a level on the iPhone’s Angry Birds that a certain (Beachwood) Patch editor has been working at for weeks.

Look for Himmel to stop by your business or organization. Even if you decide that advertising on Twinsburg Patch isn’t for you, maybe she will help you beat Angry Birds, too.
