Twinsburg Schools Hosting Grief Counseling Event

The Twinsburg Schools with help from the Twinsburg Ministerial Association will put on an event March 13 on how parents can help their children deal with loss and grief.

Twinsburg Schools will host an event Wednesday night to help residents deal with the difficult events of the last couple of weeks.

The event is schedule to begin at 6 p.m. March 13 at the Dodge Intermediate School auditorium. Dinner from Chick-Fil-A will be provided at 5 p.m.

With the tragic death of Tami Wong -- who had two young children in the schools -- and the deaths of two Twinsburg parents, the community is very shaken up, said Superintendent Kathryn Powers.

"We have a community dealing with a lot of sorrow and a lot of loss," she said.

The event is intended to help parents learn how they can talk to their children about tragedy and loss.

Powers says there will be grief counselors present from Cornerstone of Hope and members of Twinsburg Ministerial Association will be on hand to help.
