Twinsburg VFW Books Memorial Wall As Tribute To Veterans

The city of Twinsburg will contribute $5,000 to the effort to bring the traveling Cost of Freedom Tribute wall to the city for Independence Day 2015.

Twinsburg City Council decided to donate $5,000 to an effort to bring a traveling memorial wall to the city that pays tribute to military veterans and first responders.

Twinsburg VFW Post 4929 is spearheading the effort to bring the Cost of Freedom Tribute wall to the city for the Fourth of July holiday in 2015.

Post Commander Joe Jasany told the city council earlier this month that the wall is in high demand, and that the wall won't stop in a city if they are already scheduled to appear in another city within 100 miles.

The $5,000 donated by the city will allow the VFW to book the dates for the event. The money will come from hotel room tax revenue.

Here's some information on the wall from American Veterans Traveling Tribute, a non-profit that organizes and transports the wall:

The Cost of Freedom Tribute is a comprehensive display honoring war veterans, active duty military personnel, first responders, police officers, firefighters and anyone else who puts their life on the line in service of the nation.
