Wine & Cheese Party and Dominique Moceanu: At the Library

Check out these upcoming events at the Twinsburg Public Library.

The Twinsburg Public Library will be hosting a wine and cheese gathering Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. for those who’ve purchased raffle tickets for the foundation Trip.

That night, the winner will be drawn and will win one of four fabulous trips.

Dominique Moceanu will be visiting the library on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. She is one of the world's greatest gymnasts and the youngest to win an Olympic gold medal. She is the author of the Go for the Gold fiction series for girls and a New York Times bestselling memoir, Off Balance. Dominique will speak about her life experiences, followed by a book signing. Copies will be available for purchase.

Fall into the October 13th Friends of the Library book sale for best prices anywhere and abundant supply of children’s books! Sci-Fi Books and Comic Books are buy 1, get 1 free; Cookbooks and Large Print books are buy 1 get 2 free! (Free books are of equal or lesser value). The Computer Lab is hosting two very important workshops for parents on Cyberbullying and Internet Safety. If you are concerned about your child or teen’s activity on the web, don’t miss Cyberbulling: What Parents Need to Know on Monday, October 15 at 7:00 p.m. and Internet Safety for Parents hosted by Officer Ron Fruscella on Monday, October 22 at 7:00 p.m.

Elec Simon is a very talented musician and tap dancer. His long resume includes touring with STOMP, gigs at famous jazz clubs, and co-founding the Drumbeat Afrika drum group. He will be here with his percussion group on Sunday October 21. At 2:00 p.m.

They’re BACK! Kathy and Greg Feketik, from World Paranomal Investigations, will again be here to thrill you with tales of ghost hunting. Their investigations have recently taken them all over the country and they want to share these creepy adventures with you on October 22 at 6:30 p.m.

It’s that time of year again! Join us for our Halloween festivities with Storytelling at the Barn located at the Historical Society barn on Thursday, October 25 at 7:00 p.m. (ages 5 and up) and bring your toddlers (ages 3-5) to Halloween Fun for Little Ones on Sunday, October 28 at 2:30 p.m. Please register.

Teen Crossings

Melanie Frank, from Home Tutoring Solutions of Chagrin Falls will present a general overview of the ACT and SAT tests: what they are, which should you take, how to prepare, on October 28 at 1:30 p.m. She will provide tips to help you study and improve your score. This is a free program.

The Twinsburg Library provides delivery and pick up service to residents of the Twinsburg School District who are unable to come to the library due to disability, recovery after surgery or caretaker responsibilities. The Twinsburg Library is one such center, providing a core collection of Foundation Center publications and databases in areas useful to grantseekers. Search the Foundation Directory Online Professional or Foundation Grants to Individuals Online to find grant-giving institutions that match the needs of nonprofit organizations or that may support students, artists and researchers. Library staff is available to help. Resources are available whenever the library is open.
