The Lady Tigers stalked the Mentor Cardinals last night in a ferocious fight to the final set. Twinsburg entered the match as heavy underdogs determined to revenge an earlier three straight loss to the division powerhouse.
The Lady Tigers struggled in the first set losing quickly 25 - 9 in front of a packed and loud Mentor crowd.
Twinsburg came out in the second set stunning the Cardinals faithful, silencing the crowd in a well played second set with the Tigers winning 25 - 23.
In the third set, the Tigers trailed by as many as 7 points late the game. Twinsburg clawed back on top of the Cardinals and stunned them again coming back to win the set 29 - 27 in a thriller.
Mentor caught their breath and won the fourth and fifth set for the match win.
The Freshman team lost in three sets 22-25, 25-12, 21-25.
The Junior Varsity lost in two sets 9-25, 13-25.
