Turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, the counting of blessings, retelling the story of the Mayflower’s voyage, awkward hugs from family members you only see in the latter part of the year…yep, Thanksgiving is filled with traditions.
Despite these seemingly national Turkey Day trends, some families carve out their own independent rituals. One family I know always participates in the nearest charity walk, combining exercise and giving back. Another family I know replaces turkey with tofu, also giving each member a veggie dish to be the chef of (I am assuming the 2-year-old is exempt). Others Skype with far flung relatives in order to create that family feeling.
We at Patch want to know: what are your unique Thanksgiving traditions? Are you planning on creating any? Did you grow up with any in your family?
