Annual Golf Outing Benefits Miktarian Scholarship
Golfers will tee off Friday morning to help raise money for the Officer Joshua T. Miktarian Scholarship Fund
Twinsburg golfers will have the chance to honor and contribute to the memorial scholarship fund at the Twinsburg Police Association's Joshua Miktarian Golf Scramble at the on Friday.
“A lot of people who play in the event knew Josh (Miktarian), so it’s a good opportunity to share stories about him,” said Twinsburg Police Chief Chris Noga.
Noga serves as a trustee for the scholarship fund, along with Miktarian’s wife Holly.

“There’s a lot of camaraderie. It’s a good time," Noga said.
The all-day event includes putting, longest drive and closest to the pin contests. Golfers will play 18 holes with lunch, a steak dinner and drinks included.

Miktarian was shot and killed during a routine traffic stop in 2008.
In 2009, the fund created in his honor began awarding scholarships to students pursuing a career in criminal justice, forensics, law enforcement or a similar field. The fund grants two $2,500 scholarships to graduating seniors from and Tallmadge High School, Miktarian’s alma mater.
