Drunk Woman Asks Fire Department for Directions, Drives Away

The following information was provided by the Twinsburg Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction

A 39-year-old woman went into the on April 22 around 10:15 a.m. to ask them for directions.

The problem? According to police Erica Chaney, of Lakewood, was drunk when she drove away.

She asked the fire department for directions to the , and the , all of which were right next to the fire department.

After she got her directions, a member of the department contacted officers to let them know she smelled of alcohol before she drove away.

Officers found Chaney at the high school and pulled her over. She was arrested and charged with drunken driving after failing several sobriety tests.

When police looked through the car they found marijuana, a marijuana pipe, an open container of vodka and half of a Percocet tablet.

All of the charges were misdemeanors except for possession of narcotics, which is a fifth-degree felony.
