Mallard Cove Man Arrested After Month-Long Drug Trafficking Investigation

Alan Christian, of Twinsburg, faces multiple felony charges after his Aug. 22 arrest.

Twinsburg Police detectives made a drug bust after a month-long investigation Aug. 22.

Alan Christian, of Mallard Cove, was arrested for drug trafficking and was arraigned at Stow Municipal Court via video on Friday. He is charged with three counts of trafficking in drugs, one count of possessing cocaine, one count of possessing marijuana and a count of criminal tools. All counts except the marijuana possession are felonies.

Christian, who was convicted of felony pandering sexually oriented matter involving a child in July of this year, was out of jail on bond awaiting his sentencing on those charges. The sentencing hearing is scheduled for Sept. 16.

In late July, Twinsburg detectives received information from confidential sources that Christian was selling marijuana and cocaine. Detectives conducted a narcotics investigation and then obtained an arrest warrant for Christian and a search warrant for his residence.

On Aug. 22 at  6 p.m. officers stopped Christian’s car on Ravenna Road near his home and arrested him without incident. During a search of the vehicle, officers found a gram of powder cocaine, a small amount of marijuana and $460 in cash. Inside Christian’s home detectives found drug processing equipment and a .40 caliber semiautomatic handgun.

“I’m not sure if this was stupidity or brazenness on his part, but obviously someone was aggravated enough by his activity to give us the information that Christian was dealing drugs while awaiting sentencing on crimes that could result in a prison sentence,” Chief Chris Noga said in a media release. “I would hope that his bond on his original case will be revoked so that he will not be able to continue his criminal activity in our community.”
