Man Accused Of Trashing Hotel Room After He Couldn't Get Pizza Delivered

Daniel DiFranco is accused of causing more than $5,000 worth of damage to the hotel room

A man is accused of trashing a hotel room in Mentor because he couldn't get a pizza delivered to it.

Mentor Police received a call at about 1:30 a.m. Friday from America's Best Value Hotel because one of the rooms had flooded and the water was seeping out, Mentor Police Lt. Ken Zbiegien said.

When police arrived, they found the water damage was just the beginning.

"The room was obliterated, more than $5,000 worth of damage," Zbiegien said.

There were two to three inches of standing water in the room, holes hand been knocked into the wall and the bed had been disassembled and its parts strewn around the room, Zbiegien said.

"Anything that could be destroyed was destroyed," Zbiegien said.

Daniel DiFranco, 37, from Willoughby, had been staying in the room. He told police that he trashed the room because he became upset when he couldn't get a pizza delivered.

DiFranco was arrested and charged with a felony count of vandalism.

Come on people! You are all missing the point here! It was pizza! This wasn't over a sub sandwich or some chicken wings, this was pizza for the love of god. We should all be grateful he didn't burn the place down. A fair reaction to such a despicable crime! It's PIZZA people! Geez!!! I hope I included enough exclamation points in this article to get my point across!!!

Thank you papa Johns for your reply to my comment. I understand that for some people Papa Johns pizza is very important in their lives, I am a pizza hut fan. Anyway my comment still holds true; it holds true because if you ask yourself, did this guy trashing the hotel fix the problem and resulted in him getting his beloved papa johns pizza? The answer is obviously no. Did his reaction cause a problem, yes. The moral of the story is, maybe it would have been better to think this problem through. Thanks for reading and God bless you all.

Mentor res, why would you think that? Just asking, God bless.

You two are completely misguided as Papa John's product is of a quality that's middling at best and Pizza Hut is plain and simply one of the most overrated businesses in the entire United States.
