Man Exonerated For Theft, But Arrested For Drugs

A man was stopped by police after they believed he stole a number of lawnmowers.

Turns out the lawnmowers were his. The problem, though, were that the drugs in the truck were his too, according to police.

On April 6 at about 1 p.m. Twinsburg Police received a call from Solon Police informing them that a man had just stolen some lawnmowers in Solon and that a Chevy truck carrying the lawnmowers were headed towards Twinsburg.

A Twinsburg police officer found the truck and pulled it over, but it was determined that the lawnmowers were not stolen after all and belonged to the driver, a 48-year-old Cleveland man.

The problem is that while investigating and searching the truck, the officers found drugs and drug paraphernalia inside, including a metal marijuana grinder, according to the report.

A passenger also had a warrent for his arrest for failure to appear at court to face a child neglect charge. That passenger was arrested and taken to the Solon jail.

The driver and the passenger were both cited for drug possession and drug paraphernalia.
